FETAC Level 5 Workplace Food Safety and Hygiene
FETAC Level 5 Workplace Food Safety and Hygiene course has been designed to equip participants with the principles of HACCP. HACCP is a systematic approach to identifying controlling hazards, whether they are Microbiological, chemical or physical that could cause a threat to the production of safe food. Since 1998 it is been a legal requirement for all food businesses to have a food safety management system based on the principle of HACCP. (This course is equivalent to the EHOA Primary Food Safety Course)
“food business” is defined as “any undertaking, whether for profit or not and whether public or private, carrying out any or all of the following: preparation, processing, manufacturing, packaging, storing, transportation, distribution, handling or offering for sale or supply of foodstuffs”.

§ Legislation relating to Food Hygiene
§ Prevention of spoilage and contamination during delivery, storage, preparation, cooking and Hot-holding
§ Personal Hygiene and good Hygiene Practices
§ Workplace Cleaning, housekeeping and Pest control
§ The importance of temperature control

Guardian Safety Trainers
Guardian Safety is a FETAC registered training provider and our trainers are fully qualified Food Safety professionals having achieved Level 6 in the National Framework of Qualifications. All Course instructors hold a minimum of Train the Trainer qualification.
This programme will run for 3 contact days and will require participants to complete some work in their own time.

Who Should Attend
This FETAC Level 5 Workplace Food Safety and Hygiene course is designed for all staff, management and senior staff involved with food or any people interested in working in the food industry.
Participants are required to complete a portfolio of tasks which will be assessed.
FETAC Level 5 Workplace Food Safety and Hygiene Certification
A Certificate ‘FETAC Level 5 Workplace Food Safety and Hygiene’ is awarded to participants who successfully complete this course.
Refresher Training and Certification Validity Period
It is recommended to refresh training at intervals not greater than 3 years.
DVD and lap/top projector are used. Extensive notes on Safety Representative are available to all participants.
Special Instructions for this Course
Course is delivered through English and a good understanding of the language is a requirement.
